Now that ive found this place i got a question ive been wondering about for a while now. Any way to save windows update files and ie updates so i dont have to redownload them the next time my system crash? Right now with all the updates for ME and IE and media player and office it takes hours and hours to download them all in dialup. All i can get is the setup thing that starts the download. Is this possible or do you think microsoft would mail me a disk :-} Thanks

I also tried jims link and found it to not work. Blanks link worked but after scrolling down to ie5.5 sp2 i see the same downloader file i get from windows update. Im using dial up at home and my hope was to use the T1 at the office to download all the critical updates for windows ie and mediaplayer and bring them home on cd-r to use after i format-reinstall next month. What about the files in this folder C:\WINDOWS\Windows Update Setup Files Is it possible to use these cab files stored here from previous windows updates ? Ive downloaded every update over the past year so if i can use these files im set. Also does anyone know if this folder contains all the updates downloaded or only some. I know this folder didnt exist when i got the system and only recently noticed it. thanks.

I got it to work finally. It took a while to download, but I think I have most of the files needed for the update. Thanks for the help. Dave T2
