saving images from net

I cannot open images saved from the net to my desktop photo editor will return unknown format even when a properties scan indicates the image is jpeg is my system set incorrectly or is the file type being blocked by aliens or ctu

Do these images open with anything else. IE, image preview, ect. How are you trying to open/view these images? Through the program, or by what means.

I switched to IE from AOL browser and now they are recognised by Imaging , paint , photo editor etc. maybe i need to change my aol settings Thanks STAR.
