WindowsMe on an IBM I installed the software for new PC camera, and and it said to restart the computer. When I restarted the computer it came up in safemode options screen wih a message that said "Windows has detected a Registry\Cofigure error. Use ScanReg to correct this error." I tried all of the options(1 thru 4) in safe mode but the screen always comes up blank with Safemode in all four corners, but no icons or anything. I press ctrl+alt+del and it shows nothing is running. I got it to try running Scandisk a couple of times but I get a box with "ENUM\HTREE\ROOT\0" at the top that contains the message "SuRegCreateKey Failed" Thanks for any help. Ron

If the problem is only on the registry then boot using an win 98se or me startup disk and choose minimal support. Upon completion, go to C prompt and type "scanreg /restore" w/o qoutes and choose the last known good registry backup. if you can now boot in normal mode, connect the pc-camera to the usb if it is and power it on then re-install the drivers for the pc-camera. I believe you can also run system restore from safemode.(assuming you havent disabled it)

After I got the C: prompt I had to go to the Windows directory and type "scanreg/restore", and it worked.
