I would like to know if in Windows ME when you plug in a USB flash memory stick you are supposed to see the ¨Safely Remove Hardware¨ icon in the system tray (Notification area) or not.
I see it in my desktop, but not in my laptop. Is there something missing (a deleted file of some sort). I have created an icon with a rundll32 script to ¨Stop¨ the device, but that normally is done from the notification area (system tray).
Any help would be good, I´ve gone to several forums, but do not get replies.

seekhlp, dunno if it's supposed to do that by itself or not. On mine, I can 'drag/drop' an icon from my desktop to my quicklaunch tray or vice-versa to put the icon there. HTH. Ed in Texas.
