Safe Mode w/ Network Capabilities!?

I bought a new HP at Ubid.com a while ago, and I've been frequently having trouble with the sound-card + drivers. Every 10 days or so, the comp. crashes and the sound just stops functioning. The little yellow speaker icon in the sys. tray disappears and all hell breaks loose. =)

I called HP Tech Support a few times. The suggested I boot up into Safe mode and remove all Sound, Video and Game Controllers("the system will automatically install the soundcard drivers"). When that didn't work (and the PC just froze at the add new hardware screen), all they suggested was to format and recover using their recover CDs. 4 format-and-recovers, 10 Tech Support calls later, they finally figured out that it was the CMOS battery that might be the problem. Well I spent $30 to get Best Buy to replace it for me. Turns out, that doesn't do $#!+. As soon as Windows begins to load - New Hardware Found wizard pops-up and begins to install my soundcard. As it starts installing the actual sound card driver, it automatically reboots to the HP screen and just freezes up. This happens every single time I turn on the damn PC. I can't get past the New Hardware Found wizard except in Safe Mode.

I finally got HP to service my machine. They're picking it up in a few days. Here's my question: Is there a way for me to gain access to my network thru safe mode? That way, I can transfer all my docs and other BIG files into this other PC on my home network, before they service my PC and do god-knows-what with it. I only have access to the floppy in Safe Mode, and that's not an efficent way to transfer my files.

I just want to be able to disable the Add New Hardware wizard for 1 time and get my HD contents to my other network pC. Thanks in advance.

Specs

HELLO
shut off computerremove sound card and restart.in safe mode.goto start run type msconfig goto start tab.shut off any thing you dont need in start up.state manager must stay for sure.but you can stop most other things.restart computer into normal mode.
if it starts tranfer your data to your other computer.what other cards you running?if this dont work you might want to remove any other s so you can at least get your data off.
you might allso if this does not work goto add/remove and remove any programs you wont need on there to tranfer your data.its going to get waiped at the shop.the less you have running the more likely you will get it to run long enogh to do transfer.
have a nice day
