Running Programs in Startup vs Scheduled Tasks

What's the difference between putting a program I want run at startup in the STARTUP folder, and putting it in SCHEDULED TASKS, and having it run at system startup?

Startup executes the program only when you boot your computer. When it is a scheduled task, you can run it whenever you want.

That does not answer the question. If the scheduled task is scheduled to run at system startup, does that differ in any way from putting the same item in the startup menu?
