Comment: When I'm running HDCleaner and need to wipe out the free space of may hard disk after 100 % the computer says:"You are runnning out of disk space...." but my hard disk has 3,5 G used and 6,2 G free. Do I need annother ratio used/free or maybe you know annother wipe utility not so prettending!

Reply: (edit)Why do you need to wipe free space?Anyway hard drive free space errors reporting can be corrected by running Scandisk from within Windows ME(or 9X).If Scandisk(or Defrag when you use it) restarts many times without completing task, use Enditall v1.0 (v2.0 is not a free program)to close programs causing the many restarts before running Scandisk.Scandisk will freeze the computer if more severe problems are found on the hard drive and complete wiping with a program writing zeros(free version of Active @ Killdisk boot disk is one of them) is the next best step before you use fdisk, format and go on reinstalling Windows and programs. Find Enditall here: http://bugclub.org/downloads/ Good luck.

Reply: (edit)c_m_ion, The reason it's saying that, is because the program IS writing to the free space. In turn, it's no longer free space. Well, that's the way OS (operating system) is seeing it. When the program is done, your used/free space is correct, yes, and you no longer get the "You are runnning out of disk space....". It (the OS) doesn't continue telling you that, yes/no. S.T.A.R.

Reply: (edit)S.T.A.R you mean it does the job but reporting wrong? But 3,5 G is ok when copied in 6,2 G( so hard disk has 7 G occupied and the rest free to 10G). WHy it doesn't have room?

Reply: (edit)Petit Jean do you think Active @ Killdisk will wipe (after scandisk although after saying me it doesn't have room there is room enough) and HDCleaner not?
