Recently installed an HP Photosmart 1315 printer. Have Windows ME, 384 MB RDRAM. Now whenever I try to access display properties I get the Rundll32.exe abnormal program termination message. Can' create a shortcut either, can't right click on desktop. Any suggestions. Have contacted HP and they say it is a windows problem.

Try uninstalling the program, then see it it is still giving you the error message, if it is, probably a windows problem (in this case, I would first try a system restore) if not, it is the program and then it is HP's problem.

HP are idjits. Any time you have to contact their tech support make sure you ask for their HIGHEST TECH SUPERVISOR. Otherwise you'll have to tell them over and over what you have tried and then they'll tell you to try what you already told them you tried! ASK FOR "ALEX" HE SEEM TO HAVE HELPED ME MORE THAN ANY OF THE OTHER IDJITS AT HP TECH!

Thanks guys! When I uninstall the program the error goes away. Have spent hours on the phone with HP, installing and uninstalling the program. Have done a system restore with reformat also. HP insists it is a windows problem.

I have the same exact problem. Unistalling the HP Drivers is the only solution I have found... works like a charm. Of course.... then you bought a great printer for no reason. This is so annoying.

I am having the same problem. I have installed & uninstalled the printer several times. I have done a system restore and nothing seems to help. I downloaded and updated driver for the printer and am still having the same problem. Not sure what else to do.
