Rundll32 error in SETUPX.DLL

Removing the layout.inf files allowed me to access Windows Setup in Control panel and no more Rundll32 error messages, BUT I can't change any of the components in windows setup. All the components ( notepad calculator, etc. ) that were already there work fine but I can't add or remove any. ALSO, when I tried "Krystyna's fix" I don't have any MERGE item in my right click menu when I open the notepad file. How else would I get this to work? See previous post Rundll32 error in SETUPX.DLL ANY IDEAS. Thanks
