the most stable and relyable bootdisk i find, is 98's bootdisk...you can get it from bootdisk.com, or if you want to make another bootdisk, they will have it there as well, but i prefer 98...even use it for XP still.

I notice that your O/S is Windows XP. You cannot start a Windows XP system using a Windows 98 or Windows ME boot disk.
As you will be aware, pure DOS mode was removed from Windows XP by Microsoft, so trying to boot a WinXP system to DOS using a Win9x boot disk is a receipe for a disaster!
WinXP uses the NTFS file system, whereas Win98/ME use FAT32. A Win98/ME boot disk will load a version of DOS which only understands the FAT32 filesystem, and so *cannot* be used with an NTFS file system.
