Hi there ,

I've been heaving lots of problems lately and mostly I can fix them myself with information you get here and there , but this time ... I need help. My OS is Win ME,and I've got a nvidia tnt2m64.

There are errors like :
VMM(01)+ 0000DC96 Error:OE:0028:C000EC96
I've discovered that error had something to do with the video games , but we only have recently installed al silly action man game for my brother. I don't think this has anything to do with it. We also have Hexen , my sister played it once. BUT left the cdrom in the driver while shutting down :-(.

I then installed a Virtual MM(?) (the most recent version of Microsoft).

I've also got error messages in my kernel32 :-( , rpcrt4.dll , IFSMGR , and the computer doesnt seem to find the ifshlp.sys , well , we do have it , but the one line I can read for it says it's not the right version. Also my chatprogram Trillian just crashed , faults in user.exe.

What also goes terribly wrong is the scandisk , the computer can't run it. Whenever I start the scandisk it keeps on checking the folders and one blue square comes up and disappears again , it goes on like for hours if i don't close it.

I also started the pc up with the startup-diskette , that one does a scandisk , no faults , but when i do a scanreg , always a fault , i restored it , and whoops there goes the blue screen with: "Is ifshlp installed ... ?" After i hit enter , the system completely stopped and that was what the ext blue screen told me : ... the system stopped ... .

I have no idea what the hell is going on , but as you can see , all programs like explorer and most other software works perfectly.

I'm tired of shutting down and rebooting or pressing ctrl alt del .

Ow and yeah our systemresources is now less then 50 % ???? 46 % Is that pretty normal ???

I also had a trojan on our computer js.seeker and deleted therfor the prefs.js file that was on our system. Other prefs like securityprefs and other two I left it on the system.

Please , can anyone help me , does anyone know what may be going wrong or is there a perfect link between all these errors ???

Already Thx ahead for reading ;-).
greetz , mannonneke

hello
try doing a system restore to a point befor you were haveing the problems.
if that dont work try uninstalling the games.
allso try an online scan at housecall anti virus its free.
you do scandisk and defrag in safe mode. they will work than if not you have a trojin or virus running in the back ground.
you should allso delete all your temp files and do disk clean up and do forum search for delindex.bat fined it d/l sight and run it.
and read here on how to tune your puter up

Start your consideration of the link wwd gave you with point 15, updating your 4 in 1 drivers and your video card drivers. Then do point 14, then 2,3,4,8,9,10 and any others you feel like.
