is there something to be done about a router that drops the internet connection every now and then? I have broadband and a netgear router with two computers hooked up. Didn't have this problem before installing router.

Go to the netgear site to get a firmware upgrade

http://kbserver.netgear.com/main.asp

Select your router model and firmware and make sure you read the instructions and release notes carefully so as to get the proper software for your router.
