Subject: Riddle me this!
Comment:

Since installing Windows ME a couple of weeks ago and experiencing a couple of problems of various kinds I decided to visit several message boards and the same complaints seem to arise i.e. 'Windows ME is causing a LOT of different problems!!!!!!' Several questions come to mind:
1) Is Microsoft oblivious to these problems?
2) Doesn't Microsquash think these problems are worthy of patches and fixes?
3) Didn't Microsoft do any beta testing with ME? (apparently not, since these are a multitude of bugs).
4) I know that Microsoft must get a mobungus amount of email in regards to their new OS but can't they even answer one of my questions concerning a specific problem I am having with ME? Their data base of FAQ do not even address the problems I am having.

Thanks for the soapbox.......now its someone else's turn. Climb aboard. Alan

I've found 70-80% of problems with windows are caused by the users themselves so when thing go wrong of course it must be microsofts problem,i've not had any problems with ME that couldn't be resolved by the latest drivers or versions of the software, i would like anybody to tell me a problem that windows has that is caused by the Os

YES microsoft does beta test their OS's before release... they have many release canadates before the final version.
the problem is not the os. it is the USERS, hardware, and software. there are a couple patches for win me already.... coding software... or an os isn't easy it takes many many hours of programing and testing before a patch can be released... poop to u.
use win 98se or shut up.

I am amazed at people having Windows ME problems. I have never found a more stable MS operating system. I've even tested it on 4 year old Sony PCs that were shipped with Windows 95. I am also amazed at the people who go out and buy an upgraded OS without even considering SMALL things like software compatibility, hardware compatibility, drivers, etc. and then constantly bitch about Microsoft not foreseeing their ignorance.

More often than not, replacing the End User is the best solution. Too many people suffer from the ID10T error. Yes, idiot.

Over and out

If Microsoft really did it's job, how come there is a patch that's coming every week for it OSes?! Me like the other OS has benn ship early and the real beta testing is done by the users. Is it normal to wait for the second version of an OS for minimal stability: no.

I would stay with Windows 98se, with a few pathes and updates Windows 98se is the same flavor as ME. From a business standpoint 98se is easier to setup than ME when it comes to VPN.

out.
