Reply: (edit)boot up using a win me boot disk, goto the windows folder, run smartdrv.exe (you will need a disk cache for this, or else it will take hours to delete the folder, g,) then got c:\ type deltree /y _restore use that command very carefully!, i give no warrently if misused, vbg, you could serously harm your system, if you used it to delete prograam files (progra~1) or your windows folders.

Reply: (edit)you've got it =) im sure someone can give you a better description of a disk cache, because i don't have a good one. basically it uses physical ram, to speed up disk access. it uses about 2 by default, but you can specify a larger ammount. when running windows 9x/ME itself, uses a cache by default, its somewhat internal, so you don't have to load anything, but for dos, it has to be done manually (or via an autoexec.bat file.
