removing Topsearch from IE6

I have a new search pane opening everytime I reboot the machine. Seems to be Topsearch. I've tried editing the registry to remove it, but the reg is rewritten to include it. everytime I hardboot. A previous answer to a similar question made mention of 'HT', I guess I'm ignorant, but can someone tell me what this is, or any other way to remove this bothersome thing that keeps removing my links toolbar as well?
