See if it's in the StartUp folder
Start--Programs--StartUp
If it is you have to remove it from there to prevent it from loading

[1] Start/Settings/Taskbar and Start Menu/Advanced Tab(Clear Button if not dimmed)/Advanced Button
and remove "Paltalk" shortcut if there.

[2] If that doesn't do it Start/Run/Type "Sysedit"(no quotes) press OK
Click on file labelled Win.ini and look for "Paltalk" under Run=
If it is there remove ONLY program name, leave Run=, close Sysedit

[3]If that doesn't do it then its run from registry so since you know how to open Msconfig
do it and see command filename ie.."C:\Program Files\Paltalk.exe" (example only)

[4] That filename will be listed in one of the keys shown below, I have listed them all for
future..It will almost certainly be found in the keys below:

Navigate to this key after Start/Run/Type, regedit, hit OK
Just expand hive, then subkeys, untill you reach
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
Select Run with cursor,
With it highlighted go to Registry Menu, select Export Registry File, give it name
Paltalk, and press okay. It will save this key and value to My Documents probably.
since this key is still selected:
move into right pane (window) and select @ symbol
corresponding to "C:\Program Files\Paltalk.exe", right click and select delete
say yes to Dialog Box and repeat with key below
navigate to...
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
Select..............and so on.

All done..if you have made a mistake, exit regedit, locate paltalk.reg and double click.
Any changes you made are reversed.

The following keys are where programs that run at startup may be found other than
in locations listed at [1] and [2] above..

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]

Good Luck

Terry

Hi Dino
I have PalTalk too. You don't have to go through all that in the registry and MSConfig. If you open up PalTalk and go to the options on the buddy list there is an option you can select/deselect to have the icon in your system tray. I've fixed it that way myself and will have to do it again tonight since I installed the newest version.
