Hi! Everyone! I forgot how to block out the first Hewlete Packard screen.----When I boot up,the HP Invent(white and blue)screen comes up first. Then the Windows ME screen comes up(i like that). Then after the Windows ME screen goes off,the dark blue HP wall paper screen which is the desk top and all its icons,it comes up. Now,I like the dark blue HP wall paper with all my icons,it is just that first(white and blue)HP Invent screen that I want to get rid of.I think it might cover up my boot up options. That screen that gives you so many seconds to chose,I can't remember.I don't know, maybe what's behind that HP screen is something I don't care about seeing anyway. What'da you think guys?----------Donald

If you go into the BIOS setup, you may be lucky enough to have a setting that will let you disable the HP splash screen. Does it say anything on the first screen before the splash comes up eg press DEL to enter Setup or it might be F10 or whatever. Good luck...Krystyna
Ill trade you my windows splash screen for your HP invent bios splash and ill throw in some broken shortcuts from my desktop :):):):):):):)

I dont believe you can remove the HP splash screen-- i work for HP tech support, and as far as we know, it isn't possible. Atleast not on ne of the pavilion machines
When I did a clean install of Windows Me, I zero out my hard drive and installed a clean Windows Me and it go rid of my HP splash screen. Sue

Thanks Guys and Girls! I read all off your replys and I will look into each one.I'll try anything, that's what gets me into trouble.Hummmm, maybe if there was never any trouble, would I like that?.I just don't know?.O!,I guess if it was always trouble that one would always have a solution.--Anyway, how do I get into the BIOS that Krystyna suggested?---Thanks---Donald

Hi Donald To get into HP BIOS, try pressing F1 key when HP logo appears. If that doesn't do it, try F2 key. If neither key works, have you got your manual for the computer - should tell you just what to do. Once in the BIOS, you would be looking for a heading that says something like "manufacturer's information" On my ACER, I can disable the splash screen by turning it off in that setting. Krystyna
