I had an older version which was removed and I still can't install a newer version. MSN is no help. I would like to remove all items related to msn in my msconfig. and start fresh. Can anybody help me?
Hi Nancy, you could try the removal tool above, i've never used it so can't vouch for it.

Sorry nancy I mis-read your post. If you can identify in msconfig what pertains to MSN I can tell you how to delete them.It involves editing the registry so you should make a back up copy and place it on your desktop until after you complete the task and see if the computer will perform ok. Go To start run type regedit ok click the plus signs at Hkey local machine software microsoft windows current version highlight entries that say RUN, look in the right hand pane and delete the identified entries. when you are done with Hkey local machine do the same with Hkey current user.
Be careful in the registry....

Yes but specifically WHAT are the registry entries pertaining to MSN? You can run a search for 'MSN' and there's lots there in a clean install, referring to their inbuilt internet sign up. I want to clear out all that junk and object to it being there in the first place. Example: there are CLSID entires - do I delete the entire CLSID or just the parameters within it referring to MSN?
