Comment: I have a HP Pavillion XT853 Desktop. I was using the HP Scanjet 3400C with it (USB) till my computer crashed and I had to use the recovery disc. Now I am unable to re-install the Scanjet software and use my scanner. I get an error message - Uninstaller Setup Failed to initialize - you may not be able to uninstall this product.
I tried installing in the safe mode without success. Also, under System Summary I have Problem devices - ACPI - IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering. Please Help!!

Reply: (edit)Have you tried to go to the Device Manager and Remove it? Not sure if this will fix your issue, but it's worth a try.

A hardwarew device must be removed in 2 steps. (1)You must remove the hardware through the device manager in the system control panel. (2)You must then uninstall the hardware.

Reply: (edit)Thanks for your responses J-Man and Josh. I have removed the scanner from Device Manager and have removed all HP Scanjet software from my computer. It still says "Uninstaller setup failed to initialize... " and the software is not installed. ANy more ideas? How do I fix the "Problem devices - ACPI - IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering." Could that have anything to do with it? Thanks

goto start,settings printers and fined your printer on the list and start instalation there and goto add new hard ware
and have it fined your printer (assumeing its allready pluged in)
and use wizzerd to reinstall drivers. have your cd handy
