I just formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows ME on my Dell Dimension 8100. Now when I boot up the computer I get the blue screen and this error. "An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C00615d in VxD VNETBIOS(01). Then if I hit any key to continue windows does load but in safe mode.

Why was it necessary to reformat & reinstall Windows?

I came up with a virus/trojan that pretty much sunk my computer. Nothing would function. Most programs would only have a fault when I tried to open them. Anyway I found the problem with the blue screen was I didn't have my video drivers installed. So I think I am on my way to having this problem taken care of.

Download all drivers, utilities, documentation for your Service Tag Number and burn it all to cd. It'll save you a lot of time if you have to do this again or if you ever install a different version of Windows. Skip
