Reinstallation of Windows Me

I had a problem with my Me system and decided to reinstall it, however I got a message saying I had insufficient conventional memory and cannot prescan my system and closes down. It gives the same message if \I try to upgrade to Widows 2000 or WinXP. How do I solve this problem?

How are you installing Windows ME. With a bootdisk or booting from the cdrom drive.

try fdisk /mbr
