Hi,
I didn't get any replies to my earlier question about losing my Java, so I thought I'd ask if I can get another copy of Win Me and reinstall it without losing my data files.
Thanks.
Bob

I've been looking for a download site for the removal tool for the M$ Virtual Machine for you so you can re-download and reinstall M$JVM, but so far this is the only site I've found:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=481&thread=454342&tstart=0&trange=15
JimmyLopez claims to have a copy of the uninstall tool in his post at the bottom of the page; whether or not it is the "real deal" I don't know, but I do believe that is the only way you are going to be able to reinstall the M$ Virtual Machine effectively without a reinstall of Windows (get M$ Java uninstall tool, run it, reboot, download the M$VM and reinstall).
You can do an "over-the-top" install of Windows from your cabinet files (if they exist on your system), the setup.exe file should be located in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs\Install\setup.exe; just double click setup.exe and Windows should begin to install and you should not lose your data, programs etc., but there is no guarantee and it would be best to backup important/valuable data.
End tasks of everything except explorer and systray first!
You could also download and install Sun Java Runtime Environment and set it as default for IE through its' Java Control Panel options.

Majorgeeks has it.
The Microsoft JVM Removal Tool can be used to remove the MS Java Virtual Machine (MSJVM). Use of this tool is the only supported method for removing the MSJVM from a Microsoft operating system.
This tool disappeared from Microsoft's website on May 15, 2003. Consider it unsupported.
I downloaded it (it takes it time). It's 345kb. Not used it.
