I reformatted with a clean install and as the CD was loading WIN ME, I received 2 error messages in which I have never EVER had in reformatting before and I would like to know if anyone knows what they are and exactly what to do about them.
1.) regsvr32 error in CONTROL.DLL (will now close)
2.) Hwinfo error in HWINFO.exeI also could not get the windows update to work but found a work around for it..but that too had never happened before this latest clean install.
I am somewhat computer savvy, but this one has me stumped.
Thanks all in advance.

Well for what it's worth, it's not a unique problem. Quick site search gave this up ..

Won't get you very far though.
I'll post more when I have time, but the file descriptions are easily googled, they run run as follows ...
Description:
regsvr32.exe is a processes belonging to the Windows OS and is used to register dynamic-link libraries and ActiveX controls in the registry. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.CONTROL.DLL I'm assuming is some type of legacy term for the Common Control DLL - Check MSDN, lot's of information. But I'd have to check and find out for sure. I'm not certain.
HWINFO.EXE is your bog standard Windows hardware Info utility. If you Ran HWINFO /UI you would see what it was.
But I'm with you, where that fits into what you got and the poster from the link, I haven't a clue off the top of my head. I'd have to seriously research and get my head round it.
