Okay, I recently uninstalled LimeWire, which comes equipped with the ever-annoying adware LimeShop... so, after uninstlling Limewire, I notice LimeShop is still in the list of Programs to ADD/REMOVE...
so i try to uninstall it and get an error repeatedly. So i go to "Search" and look for any files with 'Limeshop' in them. There are several, and i delete them all. i remember they all had 'limeshop' directly in the name, except for two, which i recall as "setup.cgh", and someother one.,,. So, when i shutdown, and restart the next day,...the computer comes up with the Windows Millenium Edition Startup Screen.... and says something to the effect of:
1. Normal
2. Logged (BOOTLOG.TXT)
3. Safe mode
4. Step-by step confirmationCAUTION: Windows detects a registry/configuration error.
Run SCANREG to correct this error.....
so I try to run Safe Mode,....and it just hangs there in a gray screen with "Safe Mode" at all corners. I run in Normal, and it runs ScanDisk, which does nothing, and then tries to detect PlugnPlay. So i choose automatically detect, and it freexes while only reading the A: drive. I try to browse for my C: drive or any others, but to no avail. So I run in step-by-step several times, and still nothing. It seems I can't run SCANREG, can't get to the DOS prompt. How can I get my Windows back??? Please, without formatting, I hAve so much stuff on here.....
Please help me. I've also tried WinME boot-disk from Internet (don't have mine), and it didn't work.

From the boot disk dos prompt type:
scanreg /restore
You should get a screen showing the dates available to restore the registry.Choose one before LimeWire was set up if you can.If no date is shown on the calendar the registry won't be restored. You will have to re-install the Windows system and programs.

Good luck.
