When I used win98 I used to go into explorer and windows/system/regedit to make changes to the registry. Now that I have upgraded to WinME I can't find regedit. Can someone tell me where I can find it? I don't like to use the START/run because I have small children using my computer and If am afraid they will accidently get to it through the run menu.

It's still available. I'm running WinMe/Windows2000, I've just looked in C:\WINDOWS and have it there. :)

Search HD for "regedit.*" If you cannot find it then: Note that many viruses rename regedit to an unrunnable name and place a file containing the virus with the same name on the HD. You should scan your system with an uptodate signature file and recent core engine immediately. Click on link below for a free online virus scan.. HouseCall
If your system is clean then you should find regedit.exe in C"\windows\options\cabs or C:\windows\options\install\win_17.cab
or you may download a workable version of "regedit" from: RegEdit Download

It is in your Windows folder and is named "regedit.exe". Make a shortcut on your desktop and rename it to something else if you don't want the kids fooling around with it.
It appears the previous posters have not read your problem properly.
