Hi, I have an old 10 gig hard drive that I would like to use as the slave drive, but the drive has only linux installed on it..i believe it is missing the FAT32 file. I have it installed in the machine, but Windows does not recognize it. How do I go about reformatting this drive so I can use the drive space for Windows?

Thank you for the link. I followed the directions with the fdisk utility, but I was only able to create a primary partition of a little over 1 gig (and the hard drive is 9 gigs in total size). How can I get the remaining 8 gigs? When I run fdisk again, the 8 gigs shows up as an extended DOS partition, but FAT32 is not showing up next to it. I wanted the whole 9 gigs to be just one primary partition. I also tried deleting the extended partition, but it won't let me..it says "Cannot delete extended DOS partition while logical drives exist". Then when i try to delete logical partition, it says no logical drives defined. Anybody know what I can do? Thanks for the help!

Hmm - would suggest you post this in the Linux forum since it's going to be worth removing the Linux partition(s) first before you can create any DOS partitions and use the full drive size.
They may be able to advise you better on tools or commands to clear these. The Linux forum is in the links at the top left of this page. Hope this helps...

if the windoz m.e bootdisk did not delete the linux partion tha you need to d/l delpart
and add it to the m.e bootdisk this will delete any parrtion on the drive.do google for it.it,s on my sight as an atchement cant rember where google should fine it no problem. allso you could use the linux partioning program to partion and format disk to fat32 most modern linux distros will do this.
