recycle bin deleted files not shown

when i delete files windows tells me they are going to recycle bin, when you look in the bin they are not there, i have gone to properties and all is as it should be, when you right click on bin, and then click on empty it says are you sure you want to delete these 7 files, also window washer manages to clean the files in there, you just cant see files in there. please help
