As far as I know, the person with the video or picture would FIRST have to "save" this video or picture onto THEIR computer. Then all they have to do is send you this "saved" file by e-mail. Often times VIDEO contains many millions of "bytes" and a given e-mail program may not allow that many "bytes" to be sent. To get over this hurdle the SENDER could download a "file splitter" program. I currently use "Fsplit" which is a small totally free download.(YOU may bring this to the SENDERS attention as THEY might well need this, not you.)THEY/you can read about and download at: http://fsplit.cjb.net This program allows the user to customize the number of splits and size, to make the files capeable of being sent by e-mail. I've peronally used "Fsplit" and have sent many millions of bytes by e-mail and found it works well. If someone else on this forum knows of a better way, then by all means , act on their instructions.

Windows media encoder 7 has screen capture, and a way to adjust which part of screen to capture.

I want to capture video, not a still.
and I don't want the file sent, I want to record the image I see on my screen

Yes, Like Oil Tan Said...Downloading Windows Media Encoder 7 (from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/WM7/encoder.aspx) will let you take a VIDEO Screenshot. Run The program, Make sure Broadcast, Capture, or Convert A File Using New Session Wizzard, And Click Next. Then on the next screen ensure the 2nd option is selected and click next. Then where it says video, ensure it is checked, and says SCREEN CAPTURE. Then click CONFIGURE. Then , where it says Capture Source, go to Region of Screen. Then click that little box with a dotted line in it. after you push that select the portion of the screen you want captured. Then press OK. It then goes back to the previous screen. click next. The next window tells you where its going to be created. you have to name it, you can also change where its goinna be saved by clicking browse. (im sorry that these are so straight forward, but i just dont wanna leave anything out. No offence lol) Click next. In the next screen make sure the 2nd option is selected and click next. On the next screen, select the quality of the caputure from the drop down list. near the bottom of the window it says Create and Manage Profiles...u can create your own there if you want, but you said you're capturing webcam so the ones already there should be fine. After you select, click next. On the next screen fill in anything you want...and click next. then click finish. On the final screen, click START and then the recording begins, and the window that was up, is now minimized. to STOP the recording, maximize that window.
Hope That Helps,
Dave.

Dave, did all the stuff you said, seemed to be going right, but won't playback. says "class not registered"
