Hi, im running WINDOWS ME on a HP Pavillion pc, 40 GIG hard-drive. I have a picture that comes up on my screen-saver, its a picture of a city which i got from digitalblastphmey.com. I remember deleting it, however it still comes up, it was originally stored in c:/ adobe / wallpapers. It was a BMP image and i deleted it about 2 months ago. How do i get rid of it or atleast find out if its stored anywhere eles on my computer.

Screensavers are usually animated. A bitmap cant be animated.
If your talking about a desktop background that wont go away.. Search your HD for all bitmaps .bmp and open them in thumbnail view. Delete the one thats causing you problems.

On an empty part of your desk top, right click and select properties, then select screen saver. A box will show for you to select an image. At the top of the box list is 'none', select that or another image.

I may have misread your post. I assumed you were talking about a "stuck" background image that often shows up when starting windows even after its been removed or replaced.
Michaels response made me think about the software your running. Is it some sort of slide show screensaver? If it is and you have already manually deleted the bitmap my uneducated guess is that the software srot of copies [maybe converts] anyimage you pick for the slide show and stores it in its own file. Maybe it creates a sort of project file where the copy of the image it created still exists. I really dont know and i cant be of more help if this is whats going on with your system.
If it is a stuck background image my first response was the easy-lazy way heres the right way to remove an unwanted background or wallpaper from the "stuck" situation.
Note : The backgrounds color is changed in the appearance tab. The wallpaper is changed under the background tab.
Right click desktop/choose properties/ the display dialogue box appears and you can find the background and appearance tabs here.
Make sure desktop background is set to none. Then hit the appearance tab and set the scheme to windows standard.
Restart the computer and it should be gone.
