Hi JW,

Really like the 'Related Posts' box idea, nice touch and useful for those who's eyes don't stray upwards to the forum search!

When you click, can you make it open in an external tab/window though?

Thanks.

Looking at it again, while you're there, why not stick the box in the centre, between "Track this message with computing.net" and the "Subject" line.

Make sure people really can't miss it. Oh yes indeedy. :)

Hey,

Thanks. I do like the box where it is. However, I will change it to open in a new window.

Thanks for the feedback,
Justin

lol. It is fine where it is, I just wanted it more prominent for the casual user, but hey :p

I like it a lot. Does it trawl through the entire post search database? Or does it search through the related forum using specific keywords, picked out in the subject title? or does it pick up key words in the post? ..if you get my meaning.

Hey,

It does a forum search on the title of the post. I know not too advanced (and it won't work if people don't give posts good titles), but its better than nothing :)

Justin

Hey,

I see your point (although it was just put up two-three days ago). I'm going to let it ride for a while and see how it works. Then I'll make a decision about positioning.

Justin

Not really Jen, he's only just put it up, it's a tricky one to get the placing right. :)

Shame it doesn't fit in the darker yellow, original message header. Opposite - Name, Date, Subject, etc. ...but it doesn't ..and won't ..so I'll shut up. :p

It's a good and useful idea Justin, it's a keeper ime, it's just where to put it so the casual user can take advantage of it.

Not everyone uses the search feature as god intended - that related posts is a nice nudge in the right direction.
