Hi,
It depends..
Have you made a back up disk ??
Do you have all Drivers ??
Do you have a windows disk ??
Or a factory disk.. (Hewlett etc)
If you want to fully format, and you have
everything you need..
Insert back up disk..Reboot.
Wait til it loads..
When alls quiet..
Type Format C: Or whatever youre hard drive
is named.. Itll take a while !!
Install Your disk.. follow instructions..
OR.. From desktop.. If you have factory disc.. Follow instructions from there.
Shut me up or down. May be able to guide you further..
Hi SMUOD. respect. Col

First of all answer the questions in Col.'s post about drivers and data backups. Formatting will remove everything from your PC and all data will be lost. then....

Heres a link to http://www.windowsreinstall.com

This site has tons of info on formatting and reinstalling various windows operating systems.
If you have an OEM or Off the shelf PC that came with recovery disks click the link titled OEM and see if your system is listed.
If you have a Windows CD click the windows me link. If you have any questions post back.

Hello Col. Ive been looking around the internet and i have decided this site explains the format and reinstall of windows the best. It contains detailed instructions for any edition of the operating system whether its a full version or an upgrade. It even supplies step by step screenshots. Giving the link to this site will save us some typing :).

One more thing... The link "ill, try" left is a good one. That article will help you learn how to use fdisk and format from the windows me startup disk. After reading thru it a while back all my questions about partitioning and formatting were answered.
