Maybe you guys can give me some ideas, I'm stumped. This morning I started to receive bsod and numerous error messages on start up. and at other times no problems at all. I've run western digital hard drive test and passed. I've two different memory tests and passed, the cpu and power supply fans seem to be working and the computer doesn't seem hot. This afternoon I used ghost to go back to a clean installation and the problems remained. Does anyone have any ideas, do you think it's a windows problem or a hardware problem. thanks in advance richard

What type of error messages are you receiving? Soylent Green is PEOPLE!

I,ve noticed the series of blue screens always start with a avg core error follwed by od errors then a assortment of others. I uninstalled the avg and restalled it but still came up the same. I've unstalled it again and have'nt had any yet. As a last resort I'll fdisk and reinstall everything, there may be something in the programs that ghosted back to (i build a new image the 1rst of every month.) Usually I would expect it to be a memory problem, but everything is seated with no dust build up and the memory checks out ok. richard

An update After googleing avg problems it seems that the latest update has some problems, several people are reporting the same type of problem I'll reinstall and not update and see if it works. thanks richard
