More info needed. Google search brought up nothing for this DLL, so what exactly is the error message(s) you're getting and at what point do you get them?
Find out what hubby has been downloading, have a look in Add/Remove Programs in control panel to see if there's anything new installed you didn't know about.

When you say you can't search for files, does the F3 key or Explorer work?

If you're concerned about possible virus / trojan infection, run an online virus check at http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Hope this helps, let us have more info though

Hi,
I've been having the same problem all day. I tried System Restore, but that did not work (downloaded files are not recognized as changes to the system). Also ran complete virus scan (McAfee), no virus found.
I then ran Scandisk in Safe Mode, and now everything seems to be working properly. I searched my drive for a file named QCBAR.DLL and no file was found.

every time windows explorer is opened it crashes
error message refrences qcbar.dll
found qcbar.dll in downloaded program files. file is hidden and in windows explorer it shows up as a different name. if viewed in dos command prompt you can see it though. it's referenced in registry too. codebase (found in properties of file) references "mainentrypoint.com" which i checked out and it is a porn site. had to remove it from safe mode because it is in use.
