Comment: Right, this is causing me to go mad. My PS/2 Mouse port won't work with any mice I put in there. Even bought a new mouse, no luck. I have an ols PS/2 mouse with some bent pins within the plug itself, and this works slighlty, but is mostly unuseable. This isnt a Windows problem - it happens in MS-DOS also (from a boot disk). To make things worse, I have no USB ports I could use, and although I have 2 free COM ports, these have also just stopped working. Everything else seems to work ok any ideas? thanks al

Reply: (edit)Go into the BIOS setup as the computer is booting. Look in Integrated Peripherals and see that all ports are enabled. Then when Windows is up, go into Device Manager and remove all entries for the misbehaving ports including the PS/2 mouse port. Reboot and let Windows automatically find everything again. Krystyna

Reply: (edit)Thanks for your replies, but the problem here is that there are no misbehaving deveices or ports - at least not in the BIOS ot WinMe Device Manager. All the ports (PS/2 and both COM) are enabled in the BIOS, yet they just wont work. Thanks Alex

Reply: (edit)Have you checked your IRQ list in Device Manager for conflicts or sharing ? Double click Computer at the top of the list of devices and choose the Interrupt Request button. Krystyna
