I looked in msconfig and saw the vcache in system.ini but I sow no #s and wouldn't know how to hcange them if I did. I have run ME on this computer for about 3 months and have ahd no problems unitl now so I doubt it's the ME, the CPU leak is possible but I have never heard of it, just recently a friend gave me what he thought was a 233MMX and I took myine out and tried his but it was a 200 also, could this cause a leak, if so How do I fix that, I presently have me original processor installed. All fans are functioning properly so I doubt it's a heat issue. If I start the computer up I can run it real hard, have six IE pages open, outlook express, system monitor, and then go looking around at jpegs on my d drive and the thing does fine, 20 minutes later It starts slwoing down and I shut everything off and the processor spped stays pegged. If max mem is like winturboram than I have the WTR and have tried it but don't know if it helps or not overall but it doesn't help this problem. Should I try the other processor? Are there certain precautions other than ESD that I should ahve been aware of? Thanks for your help.

download cacheman. that will set up your vcache. also go into control panel, system, performance, file system and change to
network server, that'll speed it up a little.
search for a program called srp that removes
system restore, that'll make it more reliable. have fun!

How do you reformat the hard drive? I used to use the acer disk that came with the computer but now that I have ME on it that doesn't work. I would prefer to do the reformat without it anyway as I want to load ME on the computer without overwriting anything. I've been playing with this for awhile now and feel there may be something wrong with the files or a virus or something so as there is nothing on my computer I can't put back on it I would like to start over.
