Does anyone know, I read somewhere that someone had upgraded their processor from an 800 mghz to a 1300 mghz same model as mine, Compaq Presario 5008US running Quantum Fireball 40 gig if this is the largest of the processors it can go, have Intel Celeron 800 mghz now.

Go to HTTP:/WWW.TOMSHARDWARE.COM/ and use the how to guides to see what the gains would be. The site also has a price grabber feature for you to get the best deal possible when you buy. I do know that the Celeron is a very good/reliable workhorse chip, but it has limited features that prevent it from being a performance or multitasking chip.
