Problems with Mic

Help.My mic wont work.I have a built in mic but it wont record i plugged one end of the built in mic cord into my cd player and the other end into the mic jack.It recorded my cd. But then i tried it with the mic nothing.I bought 3 desktop mics thinking it was the mic nope still nothing.But now when i plug in one end of the built in mic cord to my cd player it comes out of my speakers. I went into the recorder and the green line doesnt move.I rewinded it and played it back and it recorded but the green line doesnt move while its playing back.My mic still doesnt work or record this is pissing me off. My built in mic used to work just fine! i havent changed anything.

Ashley, couple of things you need to be sure about. Often Mic troubles seem to stem from the simple fact that they are'nt enabled, so make sure yours is. Another thing that may be is that some Mics require a driver that may or may not be in use. Be sure you have the correct one. HTH. Ed in Texas.

Not sure if you have fixed this yet but i had the same problem i right clicked on the speaker icon then on "volume control" then selected "Options" then "Properties". In the dropdown box select "O recording" (put a dot in it). Hit OK then put a check mark in the [] select box in the Microphone Balance box. hope this helps.
