me start's up ok but then an updating hardware information sign comes up and it just freezes.when i press ctrl alt del i see that it is not responding so i end the task ,the pc still remains frozen and it never boots

hello try booting to safe mode and goto device manager any conflicts showing up?try running virus scaner from safe mode.any new soft ware programs registery editing or cleaning in last few days? if so or even if not try a system restore back to point when computer last worked. in the event your system restore dont work you can get a start up boot disk and at the a: type scanreg /restore pick a registry restore point befor this started happing. a good restore point will have started beside it. you have 5 days of registry back ups set by default.and this being a time thing.each new day a new setting (only if computer was started) try scanreg last and try the other first. have a nice day
