hey, i have a problem in that every time i open an application or 'my computer' on my desktop an error about a .dll appears, often it is a error with KDP3C8B.DLL, but sometimes it is MSHTML.DLL and other such .DLL things. i have norton antivirus installed, but i reinstaled that but it seemed to have no effect.
i was also wondering how i could get rid of Kazza Download Accelortar as i keep disabling it in msconfig but everytime i reboot the box is checked again.

sonofmurchy, sounds to me like you have contracted a nasty. My guess is that it has hidden itself in Restore (a protected Windows file that can't be changed while active) and with each boot up, that file rewrites the directory and thus does the things you describe. The cure is easy. Simply TEMPORARILY disable Restore, scan/clean, re-enable restore. You will lose ALL your Restore points in the process and start anew setting them as you exit. HTH. Ed in Texas.
