The problem started when I uninstalled and reinstalled the configuration ulitlity for my Linksys wireless card. (The only reason I did this was because the utility would never come up; when I clicked on it it would always say it was already running. My connection was otherwise fine.)
After that my firewall will never initialize properly and every app that accesses the internet gives me an error involving various dll files. If I shut down my firewall, running wide open, I still get these same errors.
I reinstalled ME hoping that would fix things but no good. Norton windows check turned up nothing. One interesting thing, I can ping my wireless router so I know I'm connected but if I try to log on to it thru IE or mozilla, I will get these same error messages stated before. I reset my wireless router and card to defaults to make sure the encryption wasn't hosed up.
I've tried everything know and I'm getting frustated...any help would be great.jeremy

Can you ping out past the router. Say ping 209.133.53.130 and then Ping annoyances.net
If not, your router is not connected to the internet.
Have you ran AD-Aware_v6 and/or SpyBot_S&D to clean out adware programs?
"gives me an error involving various dll files" does not help much, specific error messages might give someone a clue what is wrong.

Thanks for the reply...
The connection from my router out is fine as can still get online with my PS2; it is definitly a problem with my laptop.
Most of the time the error says "Iexplorer has caused an error in ". So I don't know for sure that that one in particular is a dll but I'm pretty sure. Some of the other apps that try to get out will list the dll, like mozilla said the problem was with xpcom.dll.
Before I reinstalled WinME I kept on getting the error "rpcss has caused an error in " After searching this forum an rpcss error usually came after installing Viual Studios or something which I didn't do.
Does ME have a way to log debug information so I can see the exact error?

The error was "Iexplorer has caused an error in unknown"...and "rpcss has caused an error in unknown". The post did included the unknown part.
