As of just today everytime I restart my computer an alert comes up telling me the following:

The shortcut 'MORZE5.Ink' refers to a location that is unavailable. The location could be on a hard drive on this computer, on a netword, or on a different computer on your home network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or home network, and then try again.

First of all I have no idea what the hell that means or where the "shortcut" is. so if someone could please help me out I'd be more than greatful. Thank you. my email address is above, or my AIM screen name is ScarsNeverSeixe. thank you.

I have the same problem(s) I do have Norton-but i can't update it because Norton don't date take Discover card. I have used Ad-Aware and Spy-Bot,...updated and all,but they don't seem to help. Spy-Bot says my system was found to be completely clean but yet,the MORZE5.Ink box was there-starring my right in the face! I also have LRXO0UPM.Ink and N63ANORU.Ink I don't know what to do now?

I was having the same problem. I ran Spybot, Adaware, Pest Patrol, McAfee Stinger, Nortons, and CW Shredder. Nothing worked.

I know for a fact that I received this message playing a game on Uproar/Flipside.com. I repeatedly deleted these files, yet they continued to appear in my start menu, and in my task manager... along with the error messages after rebooting. The only thing that worked was deleting any entries made to my Windows/System folder during the time of gameplay. I wouldn't suggest doing this, however, because I don't know what sort of reprecussions this will have in the long run, and you would need to know EXACTLY when your computer became infected. Also, cancelling the questionable programs in my task manager and allowing Spybot to run directly after rebooting seemed to disable the malicious files. The files are still on my computer, but seem to be inactive.

Uproar has also downloaded and installed lycos sidesearch, n-case, and mysearch tool bar to my computer, along with some other stuff which I've removed.

I have attempted to contact memberservice@flipside.com to resolve this issue, but have yet to receive a response.

They are: Trojan horse downloader Rameh.A and Trojan horse downloader Vb.EC I do not know how to get rid of them and no one seems to be able to help. If this wrecks my computer. Uproar.com and flipside will be buying me a new computer thats for sure. If anyone wants to start a Civil suit with Uproar. I can be reached at 727-544-4545 I live in florida.

I am also having this problem. Now I just click on the top of ''problem with shortcut'' box and move it to the side. I've tried spybot, norton system works, etc. Class action lawsuit sounds good. I'll keep checking back maybe someone will come up with a fix. If I do, I'll post it here.

I solved this by running Startup Control Panel by Mike Lin. A freebee you can get off PC World. Use this link:

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,7976,00.asp

This program allows you to quickly check (or uncheck) the items which load at startup. The spyware removal programs removed the files but not the entries in the registry. Could probably use a registry cleaner, but I hate to mess with that unless I have to. This was much easier. Be sure to uncheck the entrries in both the startup(user) tab and in the startup(common) tab, it will likley exist both places. Good Luck

think we got the inks figured out. copy all the inks letters and numbers down, go to start, programs, startup.right click, then delete. if more pops up go to start, search, startup, files and folders. type startup, open the ones with the word startup then check the letters and numbers you wrote down then delete. let us know if this helps you. fred and mary

how to beat the inks

Since this was a Win 98 system, I could use MSCONFIG and the freeware REGCLEANER program to remove the bogus entries from the startup list and the registry after taking the system offline. After spending an hour or so looking for and removing any vestiges of the infection I was able to reconnect the system and test it 100% recovered.

Good luck!

I downloaded AVG 7.0 and was able to get rid of the virus / problem after running the program a couple of times.
