Problem with double boot

I have my laptop double booted right now, running Windows Me and Red Hat Linux. I have no problem turning on the computer and starting up either of them, nor do I have a problem restarting from Windows and booting into Linux. However when I try to restart from Linux and boot into Windows I either get this Windows Protection Error, or my machine shuts off. I've been going through all the troubleshooting steps but aren't finding anything...
Amanda, you might try the linux forum. Those guys deal with linux specific errors daily. This might be a known issue one of them can help you with. It also might be the nature of the beast in which case a shutdown is required rather than a restart.
