I have my laptop double booted right now, running Windows Me and Red Hat Linux. I have no problem turning on the computer and starting up either of them, nor do I have a problem restarting from Windows and booting into Linux. However when I try to restart from Linux and boot into Windows I either get this Windows Protection Error, or my machine shuts off.
I've been going through all the troubleshooting steps but aren't finding anything...

any ideas?

Thanks!
Amanda

Hi,

I have had the same problem and the only answer I got was that LINUX is not compatible with FAT32.

Good luck

Amanda, you might try the linux forum. Those guys deal with linux specific errors daily. This might be a known issue one of them can help you with. It also might be the nature of the beast in which case a shutdown is required rather than a restart.
