I installed Boot Magic yesterday, and it works great for what I need it for. That would be to occasionally boot my D: disk to use the Microsoft Works that is installed there. I do not have the installation disk, so I am unable to reinstall it to my new C: drive, which is much larger, and is the drive I want to use as my normal C: drive.
One problem: after installing Boot Magic, Windows cannot "see" the second physical drive, no matter which I drive I boot up! I messed with the settings, and there was no change.
However, Windows still can "see" the partition on the second physical drive which is for System Backup, and always calls it drive D:
I tried making Boot Magic inactive, but the second physical drive is still invisible. And, as I stated, this is the case, no matter WHICH drive I boot up!
I could uninstall Boot Magic, and use a Restore Point to recover, but I really want Boot Magic to work for me. BTW, this is Windows ME, on both drives.

Can you access D drive by opening it in My Computer? If so try to access Ms works by browsing to the Msworks folder in program files, right click on msworks.exe and drag it to your desktop choosing create shortcut here. This will work while dual booting 98 and ME. Hope this helps.

hey Len, we share the same name.... LOL
I cannot access that partition at ALL. I tried FDISK, and am told it is a NON DOS partition. That's funny, cause it sure as hell was a DOS partition before Boot Magic got hold of it!
Now, I am going to try another one of Powerquest's marvels, Partition Magic, to see if I can reestablish that partition, and save my data..
BTW, what you suggested won't work, because the OS on the new disk will not see Works as an installed program.. there is nothing in the registry about it. It is installed only to the D: drive.

I booted 98 for about the 4th time since I installed it and I (although I dont remember it)installed works there also so I guess thats why it works for me. You might want to try System Commander It works ok for me. Please excuse the photos:)

well, the problem was simple - Boot Magic had hidden the partition. I installed Partition Magic, clcked "Unhide Partition" and it was back!
Why did this happen? Now there is a good question!
