Present System Configuration: PC100 Motherboard with intergrated sound and video. 64 Megs of Memory and a Celeron 300. BIOS is AMIBIOS vintage 1998 and has not been "flashed."

I am presently using a serial mouse with Windows 98 SE upgrade. I would like to use my serial port for somthing other than a mouse (use serial port interface for programming a ham radio).

I have added a PS/2 Mouse & USB port card to my motherbaoard in hopes of being able to add a PS/2 mouse and still use my serial port for the other application.

The BIOS was set to permit installation of a PS/2 Mouse and USB ports. Windows saw the USB ports and configured them, however, it does not see the PS/2 Mouse and Mouse port.

I have deleted the Serial Mouse in the System settings, however, when I attempt to reboot Windows, it indicates that either there is no mouse installed, or it looks for a serial mouse only.

Any help or suggestions would be appreicated.
