Trying to get my Cheyenne Faxware to work I've totally messed up Printer. Now when I click settings/printers I get a blank printers screen and PC freezes. When I reinstall printer software from CD it says 'successfully installed',but there is no sign of it. Just the above, again, again. Really need help here.

Reply:

1)Physically remove the printer connection
2)Go into the device manager(in the control panel) and remove all references therein.
3)Go into the printer and faxes icon (if applicable)in the control panel and do the same.
4)Go to add/remove programs and remove the software for the printer.
5)Boot into "safe mode" and do it all over again.

Re-install the printer and software if required

Thanks Jimi_1. Back in business. Interesting question arises from resolution: when I booted into Safe Mode, my CD-ROM was not recognized nor did it appear in My Computer. It is there in Normal Mode. Is this 'normal'?

To be honest I don't really remember but it would not surprise me it if were(normal).
Safe mode only loads enough things to let Windows operate and a CDROM drive may be considered a luxury.

Glad you are all set.
