I have a HP cpu running ME. For some reason the print screen key will not print the screen. It is the upper half of a key with sysrq on the bottom.
Help index says that it should print the screen but it does not.

Any suggestions?

I believe the print screen is just supposed to print the screen to the clipboard so you can paste the image into a document or into a photo editing program.

This is how it works on my system, it does not send the screen to the printer.

Print Screen will send a 'picture' of your whole screen and anything open upon it to the Clipboard.

Alt+Print Screen will send a 'picture' of the current open window to the Clipboard

To view the 'picture' you've just taken, go to the Paint program and Edit\Paste.

You can then save it as a .bmp .gif or .jpg into My Pictures and do what you will with it.

Noel Taylor, Les told you the correct skinny. The key simply puts your screen on the clipboard. If you wish to print it out, any program which allows you to print out anything will do the job. Simply save the clipboard (Ctrl + V will do the job) into that proggie and then print. HTH.
