print screen doesn't work

I wanted to make an image of my desktop and someone told me I could do that by hitting "print screen" and then copy/pasting it into and image editor. But I push print screen and nothing happens, I don't get it.

To copy a screen image press Prt Scr then go to Paint and press Ctrl + V Thats it Yours Wolfey

You were told correctly.
Press 'print screen.'
This copies the desktop which then has to be pasted into a document. I use word as example.. Open word for example, right click your mouse and you should get the 'Paste' command.
Left Click 'Paste' and the image should appear in your document.
