Just been wondering how to save current bios settings.
I have read that the actual configuration of the BIOS is called CMOS, which is stored in memory by means of a battery backup. If the battery dies all will be lost.
I have and award BIOS v.6 on and ASUS A7A266 Motherboard, system Windows ME.
There are many pages of settings in my BIOS so I was wondering if I can print out the settings.
I have seen talk of it, but no specific details plus DOS is mentioned a lot, but ME does not have full DOS.
If I can, how do I print BIOS?
Thanks Les

Les, you could try Print Screen key for each page of BIOS.
Or try any of these
SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN
ALT + PRINT SCREEN
CTRL + PRINT SCREEN
You might just get lucky.

Les - On w0rm's site (linked to from bootdisk.com), he has a bootdisk with a utility (cmospwd.exe) that can save and recover BIOS settings.
Quote:
Can backup/restore CMOS settings.
CMOSPWD.EXE can backup or restore your CMOS settings in case you need to. An example may be if your CMOS needs to be reset but it may not autodetect your hard drive so backing up your CMOS may be important at such a time./quote
I've never used it, so I have no idea how it works, but you can have a look if you want.
Description of the disk is here:
TechW0rm featuresIf you want to download it, the link is in the top left.

Thanks Krystyna & newgrl.
I will try both suggestions.
I thought my reply had already been posted yesterday, I typed It, so I do not know why it is not here.
