Hi,
I just noticed that something called "PowerReg Scheduler" is listed under "StartUp" in my Start menu. I don't know what it is and I don't know where it came from.
I have scanned it with NAV and it came up clean. I have also used Housecall, and again it came up clean.
PowerReg Scheduler is not listed in Add/Remove Programs.
Does anyone know what this application is, and if it is safe to get rid of it? I am not sure if it is anywhere else other than in the StartUp menu.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jodie

Looks like spyware:

Haven't found removal instructions as yet, might want to give this a try:

Update the program after installing and rebooting before running the check for problems.

Leroi & The Kid,
Thank you for your help.
I read through the Googled results concerning PowerReg Scheduler and decided to just disable it for now.
It is no longer listed under StartUp!
I had a feeling that it was third party, but was unsure if it was actually needed in order for a program/software to run.
It's pretty ridiculous how some companies will go about things without your permission. I guess nothing can be looked at at face value anymore.
I imagine that it installed itself when a friend "plugged in" some Hasbro games for my four year old.
Anyhow, just thought I'd let you know my outome.
Many thanks for both of your responses.
Sincerely,
Jodie

I also just found PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe in my Start Menu. A Google search lead to http://www.leadertech.com/ereg.html where LeaderTech defines the "purpose" of this product. I find it an invasion since I was not notified of it's installation. It's a way around SPAM. The program appeared immediately following a Black & Decker
product registration.
