I just recently got a DVD+RW drive off of Ebay, it's a NEC DVD RW ND-3500AG

I installed Nero 6.6.0.6 and PowerDVD 3.0

I just stated the Nero info for the sake of stating it, there's no problems with Nero so far.

Everything works great. It plays DVD's but it won't take screen captures.

The little camera icon is GRAYED out and won't press, even pressing the "C" hotkey produced no screen capture, I even changed the settings to save the capture directly as a file instead of the clipboard and that won't work either.

I tried both store bought DVD's and some DVD+RW's I recorded from the TV, neither disc type will allow screen captures.

I have the FULL CD version of PowerDVD, it's not a trial version. I have used this EXACT same version of PowerDVD on OTHER systems (a Win XP and another Win ME system with no problem with the screen capture) so I know it's good.

I did try downloading a different PowerDVD version off the internet but it was only a trial version so I deleted it but THAT version would let me take screen captures?!? I don't have the $$$ for getting another version of PowerDVD.

I tried changing the hardware acceleration settings and it didn't work as far as I could tell, I changed them from the display properties under the settings tab; advanced options.

I also tried changing PowerDVD's configuration by right clicking in the program - I tried changing the settings under the Video tab from "force bob" and "force weave" and "auto" and none of those worked.

The weird part is that when PowerDVD is in FILE MODE, I CAN take screen captures, but NOT in Disc mode?!?!?

Taking screenshots is fairly important for me and I'd really like to be able to do so.

Please advise

Never mind guys, I actually figured it out, I had to disable hardware acceleration from the player, not the computer as a whole.

Thanks,
Vala,
